Villeneuve: Raikkonen title not deserved

Kimi Raikkonen did not deserve the title he won in 2007 and he only secured it because he was lucky, according to former world champion Jacques Villeneuve. Raikkonen took the 2007 title for Ferrari against all odds, after overcoming a 17-point gap in the final two races of the season

Surprise: Aston Martin One-77 Sounds Amazing [VIDEO]

Aston Martin?s limited-run One-77 halo car is a lot of things, but beautiful, aggressive, and rare are the traits that spring instantly to mind. Now you can definitively add “sonorous” to that group: Aston has released a new video of a One-77 laying waste to twisty and achingly scenic European roads, all accompanied by the [...]

Report: Acura hybrid could arrive next year

Filed under:

Acura logo

Acura is working hard to revamp its existing lineup, and the first phase is underway thanks to some updated sheetmetal. Next year, Acura's main focus will be to increase the fuel efficiency of its portfolio, and this will be accomplished by the addition of hybrid powertrains for certain models. According to Automotive News, the TL, RDX and MDX are all slated to get a gas-electric option.

In addition to the hybrid automobiles, Acura is looking to revive both the RSX and NSX nameplates. The RSX will be offered as a sedan for the 2013 model year, and then a coupe starting in 2015. We won't get excited for the NSX just yet (its on-again/off-again reports have left us a bit cold), but rumor has it that we could see the Acura sports car by 2014. Fingers, toes, arms and legs are all crossed for that one.

Spy Shots: Next-gen Audi A3 shows its new face

spy shot audi a3

Audi is in the midst of reshaping its entire family. The new look starts at the top with the redesigned A8, has shown itself on the A7 and A6, and will now filter its way down through the rest of the lineup. Next in line to get the updated look is the A3, and spy photographers managed to capture a cladding-covered prototype on vacation down in Argentina.

We don't yet have a clear shot at the front end, but you can expect a large gaping maw paired with bright LED daytime running lamps, similar in shape to what we see on the A6, no doubt. The real family resemblance, however, can be seen in the character line running down the length of the car. That sharp accent is now a family trademark, and lets the world know you're looking at an Audi (as if the LED-everything didn't tell you already).

Don't get too used to this three-door shape, though. When the next-generation A3 goes on sale in the United States, it will be a four-door sedan, as Audi of America President Johan de Nysschen recently confirmed. The five-door configuration will still be available in other markets, but Stateside, Audi believes a proper four-door will be what makes customers swoon.
