Sims dominates GP3 race two

Alexander Sims took a commanding victory in the second GP3 race of the weekend at Istanbul on Sunday. The Status GP driver made a strong start from pole and was unchallenged in the early laps. He initially had team-mate Antonio Felix da Costa keeping him reasonably honest in the early laps, but the Portuguese driver started dropping back just after half distance

There is a lot going on with the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4. The Raging Bull's new range topper features a 691-horsepower V12 that can propel the world's fanciest door stop to 60 miles per hour in a scant 2.9 seconds. The Aventador looks good enough to cause whiplash injuries from rubbernecking onlookers. We could gush endlessly about Italy's newest exotic, and at the end of the day there will always be room in our driveway for such a supercar.

But what about our living room?

The folks at Lamborghini needed to deliver an Aventador to a Lamborghini Museum exhibition called "La Forza del Toro" at Chiostro del. Unfortunately, the Great Room-sized space reserved for the exotic contained no entryway large enough to drive the Aventador through, but that's when Italian ingenuity comes into play. Instead of knocking down a wall or lifting a ceiling, Team Lambo simply delivered an Aventador in pieces, then put them together on the spot. The end result is a fully functional Aventador for the "La Forza del Toro" exhibit.

Hit the jump to see the hot new Lambo get pieced together from scratch.

Di Resta reprimanded after qualifying

Paul di Resta has been reprimanded for having missed a weighbridge call during qualifying for the Turkish Grand Prix. The Force India driver was summoned by the stewards after he failed to stop at the weighbridge following the end of Q2. Di Resta, who qualified in 13th position, has escaped a penalty though, as his view of the light that forces him to stop was hampered by a car running in front of him.

Heidfeld unhappy with Petrov

Nick Heidfeld was unimpressed with Renault team-mate Vitaly Petrov after the duo made contact during the Turkish Grand Prix. Heidfeld's and Petrov's cars touched after going side-by-side in the series of corners before the start/finish straight as the duo battled for position. The German felt Petrov had pushed him wide, and he made hand gestures to his team-mate after the move.

2011 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 ? First Drive Review

Lamborghini?s latest supercar is both tamer and wilder than ever. If you happened to be in Rome at the end of April, you might have been planning to hear Pope Benedict XVI deliver his traditional Easter blessing. Finding yourself in a parade of Italian supercars guided by mayor Gianni Alemanno might have been unexpected for [...]

Jaguar Land Rover South Africa and Axeon Build Electric Defender

One of the more obnoxious experiences we?ve had in a lifetime of memorably obnoxious experiences was bombing through the narrow streets of Dublin?s fair city in a Land Rover Defender 110 van. Though not gigantic by American SUV standards, the old Landie positively dwarfed most cars on the streets of Baile Átha Cliath. In an [...]

Ex-racing boss loses privacy bid at European court

An ex-car racing boss who sued a tabloid over a story about his sadomasochistic orgy with a handful of dominatrixes lost his privacy case in the European Court of Human Rights on Tuesday -- a ruling applauded by free speech advocates. Max Mosley won a suit against Britains News of the World for its 2008 front-page story claiming the then-president of the governing body overseeing Formula One...
