Loeb takes early Germany lead

Sebastien Loeb holds his habitual lead in Rally Germany, but it took the eight-time event winner three stages to reach the front. Ford's Jari-Matti Latvala was quickest on the dry first stage, but both the Finn and his team-mate Mikko Hirvonen lost a lot of time when rain hit on SS2. They had gone with hard tyres, while the Citroens used softs - which proved much better suited to the increasingly damp roads.

Lowndes completes clean sweep

Craig Lowndes completed a perfect weekend at Queensland Raceway as he made it three wins from three races to add to his double pole. Lowndes had led throughout yesterday's two shorter races and was similarly in control in today's 65-lap event. He could never relax, though, as James Rosenberg/Stone Brothers Ford driver Tim Slade continued his best V8 Supercars form yet to chase Lowndes all afternoon, finishing just over a second adrift.

Lowndes takes first victory of 2011

Craig Lowndes finally claimed his first V8 Supercar race win of 2011 in the opening leg of today's two-part Queensland Raceway round. The Triple Eight Holden driver led throughout the 22-lap race, while Tim Slade (James Rosenberg/Stone Brothers Ford) maintained the form that saw him qualify on the front row for the first time to keep Lowndes in sight throughout, eventually finishing a second adrift in the runner-up spot. Jamie Whincup lost a little ground at the start before coming back through to third place in the second Triple Eight car
